Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Mix until just combined; overworking the meat gives it a tough texture.
- Form the mixture into four evenly sized hamburger patties, each about ¾ inch thick.
- Let the patties rest at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes before cooking.
Cooking
- Grill the patties over medium heat on a preheated grill, flipping only once, until they reach your desired doneness.
- For a medium-rare burger, aim for an internal temperature of 145°F; for well-done, go for 160°F.
Notes
Serve with crispy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, crunchy pickles, smoky BBQ sauce or a creamy ranch drizzle. These burgers can be refrigerated for 3-4 days or frozen for longer storage. Reheat in the microwave or skillet to enjoy the char.
